Well, I picked this time because personally it was a good time and because with the economy at almost rock bottom, the only place it could go is up. Rates are at the lowest point in decades and the prices of houses have been dropping like crazy. But, common sense will tell you that they will only drop so far. In this area, they are never going to give them away. But, for what you are getting, October is pretty close. Why October? Even though I am in the military and it does make my ride to work a little longer, the pros far outweigh the cons. The location is great because there is almost never traffic and there is a downtown area about 5 minutes away. The townhouses offer all appliances which was a big factor for me because I didn't want to take on a new mortgage and large bills for new appliances. The warranties that are offered with both the home and the appliances are great. The staff has always been extremely eager to help and has always followed through with their word. We found the home we've been looking for with Lawson Homes after searching every day for 10 months. We've met with 5 different builders and still couldn't find a house we all agreed upon. When my wife rode by our home and grabbed a flier and brought home to me. I called the agent Mr. Ambakey Bolden and within the hour we met at Lauren's Grove. He presented the three homes with such professionalism, I could not make a decision on which home suited all of our needs. I asked him if my family could come back later that day and he was more than accommodating. When my family arrived, he presented the homes with the same level of enthusiasm and professionalism as if it were my first time viewing the homes. We all had specific questions and he answered all of them with confidence. Later that evening we met with our agent and decided we would place a contract on the home. The layout of the home was beautiful, built very sound and for the first time, all four members of my family were in agreement. Even our dog was extremely pleased with her new home. By this time our expectations were exceeded, but there was more to come. We met Brian the Facilities Manager and everything noted on our walk through was accomplished in a timely manner without any reservation. He taught us to operate all the appliances and thoroughly went through all the warranty information and left us a detailed binder to follow up. After living in our beautiful home for three months, we're able to call Lawson Homes for clarification on certain things and they're still very attentive to our needs. We're receiving the same treatment we did while deciding to buy the home. I'm a Customer Service Instructor for a major company and to receive the same service I teach my company employees is refreshing. Our relationship with the builder of our home has been a "Lawson Experience". A house is not a home, unless, however, it is a Lawson Home. Six years ago, just two days after having closed on a new house built by another builder, I made a wrong turn into another new subdivision in the Harbourview community of Suffolk. The newly designed, aristocratic, yet nonpretentious homes by Lawson Homes, and the Harbourview community made me feel like I was already home. Eleven months later, I had sold my new house, and had contracted with Lawson to build my new dream home.
We love our all brick town home. It has the feel of a single family home but the low upkeep of a town home.
